    Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze in detail its development over the course of the text, including how it emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details; provide an objective summary of the text.

    • Learning Goal: I can analyze the development of a theme throughout The Catcher in the Rye as shown through quotations and visuals in my final presentation of a theme via Buncee.
       

Speaking and Listening Standards
  • SL.9-10.1
    Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one–on–one, in groups, and teacher–led) with diverse partners on grades 9–10 topics, texts, and issues, building on others' ideas and expressing their own clearly and persuasively.

    • Learning Goal: I can engage in a discussion within a small group about a text and contribute original ideas and questions to the conversation through the completion of Discussion Circles.
       

Technology Literacy

    Interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital environments and media.

    • Learning Goal: I can use Zoom, Blogger and Twitter to communicate information about a text with peers and create/publish a final presentation of a theme using Buncee.
