Discussion Circles Roles
  • Synopsis Surveyor: Prepares a summary about the reading to refresh the group on what happened.

  • Connector: Explains how they can connect to a character, situation or quote from the text.

  • Vocabulary Voyager: Finds ten vocabulary words from the reading that they do not understand or think their classmates may not know. Defines each word for the group.

  • Golden Line Genius: Selects five quotes from the reading that feel important, relatable or interesting. Explains why each quote is chosen.

  • Visual Artist: Creates an original visual, either by hand or through technology, that helps explain the reading.

  • Discussion Director: Prepares ten essential questions for the group to discuss about the reading.
